Welcome to Week 4 of our exciting journey & merger with Solutions for Life!

Only 1.9km from our previous Coomera clinic, our services have enhanced! From diagnostic assessments for neurodivergent individuals, more availability for psychological services and most specifically, group therapy programs.

Our merger with Solutions for Life means more comprehensive care for you! This merger is also a significant step forward in our commitment to providing top-quality psychological services.

We are excited to introduce the new group therapy programs that we can now offer for different groups of individuals. Keep reading to find out about the 6 group therapies we can offer our clients now!

What are the benefits of group therapy?

Many approaches of groups exist based on the method of therapy OR the mental health condition. Group therapy has a multitude of positives to help individuals including:

  • Helps individuals realize you are not alone
  • Helps facilitate giving and receiving support
  • Gives individuals a voice
  • Helps individuals relate to others (and themselves) in healthier ways
  • It can help provide a safety net

Secret Agent Society

Age Group: 6–11-year-olds

The Secret Agent Society (SAS) Program uses exciting games and activities to improve the social skills and emotional understanding of 6- to 11-year-olds.

This flexible program helps professionals improve children’s emotional understanding and social skills by teaching them:

  • How to recognise simple and complex emotions in themselves and others.
  • How to express feelings in appropriate ways.
  • How to cope with feelings of anger and anxiety.
  • How to start, continue and end conversations and play activities with others.
  • How to tell the difference between friendly joking and mean teasing.
  • How to manage bullying.
  • How to cope with making mistakes.
  • How to handle new situations and ask for help when needed.
  • How to make friends

Take Action

Age Group: 7-12-years old

Duration: 10 sessions

Take Action is a anxiety management program for 7–12-year-olds with anxiety.

The intervention is designed to teach children:

  • Psychoeducation regarding anxiety
  • How to become aware of their anxiety
  • Calming strategies to reduce anxiety symptoms
  • Cognitive strategies to change unhelpful thoughts to helpful thoughts
  • How to create a gradual exposure hierarchy to slowly introduce the anxiety provoking situations
  • Who to approach for help
  • How to continue these strategies after they have finished the course.

The program runs for 2 hours once a week.

The first 90 minutes are for the child to learn skills and the final 30 minutes are to teach the parent how to support the child to use the skills at home.

Asperteens

Age Group: 12-15-years old

Duration: 14 weeks

Asperteens is a social skills intervention and social group for motivated teens in secondary school who are interested in learning ways to help them make and keep friends.

During each group session teens are taught important social skills and are given the opportunity to practice these skills in session during socialisation activities, immediately afterward during a social get-together and again after the group.

Parents also attend a 30 minute sessions whilst the teens socialise and are taught how to assist their teens in making and keeping friends by helping to expand their teen’s social network and providing feedback through coaching during weekly socialisation home assignments.

BroCode

Age: 15-19-years old

Duration: Fortnightly

BroCode is a group for boys to help them to learn and practice age-appropriate social skills whilst providing a great opportunity to build and maintain friendships.

The boys learn about a range of valuable topics that are relevant in everyday life such as,

  • Conflict resolution
  • Respectful relationships
  • Making responsible choices
  • Appropriate social banter and use of humour
  • Managing risky situations
  • Assertiveness
  • Hygiene

They also learn and put into place practical skills such as ordering food, communicating effectively, budgeting and managing money during the social outings the occur each term.

Bloom

Age Group: Children, adolescents, and adults

Duration: Run consistently throughout each term

Our team of compassionate psychologists are committed to helping our clients achieve their desired outcomes.

We offer individual therapy sessions for children, adolescents, and adults, and use a range of evidence-based therapies to help clients develop coping mechanisms and improve their mental health and overall well-being.

We work closely with our clients to understand their unique needs and goals and create a customized treatment plan that meets those needs.

Age Group: Children & adolescents

Duration: Run consistently throughout each term

We are dedicated to helping children and adolescents lead happier and healthier lives.

We believe that group therapy is a powerful tool that can help individuals:
