Antonia Alessi

Antonia is a Registered Psychologist with a Masters of Professional Psychology. Antonia graduated from Monash University in 2017, and prior studied at the University of Western Sydney completing her honours, and Macquarie University completing her Bachelors, both in Psychology.

Antonia is known for her approachable, caring, and kind demeanour, and has a passion for understanding individual concerns and experiences. Antonia aims to support individuals not only to survive challenging life experiences, but also to thrive and to move forwards towards achieving their goals. Antonia enjoys working with people of all ages and stages including children, adolescents and adults. Antonia has knowledge and skills to support people living with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, social difficulties, learning difficulties, low self-esteem, low confidence, worry, stress and more.

Before moving into private practice three years ago, Antonia worked within government and non-government systems including the unemployment and disability sectors. Antonia worked supporting job seekers to improve wellness and wellbeing whilst looking for work, and individuals with chronic conditions and disabilities to live a life of dignity and equal opportunity, through tailored assessment and intervention.

Antonia prefers to apply a person-centred, strengths-based approach in tailoring services to the person’s unique preferences, strengths and needs. Antonia enjoys using a variety of evidence-based therapeutic models including Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focussed Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, and elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and creative mediums such as art and music.

In her personal life Antonia practices what she preaches, by maintaining lots of healthy hobbies in areas of sport and art, as well as prioritising quality time with loved ones (including the family cat).
