A former teacher and school principal, Jeff has worked as a psychologist for more than 20 years. Jeff has had extensive experience working with children and adolescents in Australia and the US. His Doctorate was taken in the Children’s Hospital at the University of Cincinnati’s Centre for Developmental Disorders. Additionally, Jeff worked seven years at The Children’s Hospital Westmead, NSW as Director of the Children’s Hospital Education Research Institute, where he is an Emeritus Consultant Psychologist.
In his university life, Jeff had major responsibilities for postgraduate training of teachers for roles as special education/inclusive education professionals. Besides initial teacher training and an Undergraduate Arts degree, Jeff has Masters degrees in Literature, Education, Organisational Psychology and Counselling Psychology, as well as a Doctorate in Educational Psychology.
As a recently retired university professor (Professor of Inclusive Education and Psychology at the University of New England, Armidale, NSW), he has published and presented over 350 times on topics including stress, morale, attitudes toward disability, developmental disabilities, parenting, ADHD, and dyslexia/learning disabilities.
Jeff’s extensive work history has provided him with wonderful clinical and counselling experience for working with children and adolescents. Most of all, Jeff is committed to service and now enjoys providing support and guidance to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, stress and learning and behavioural problems. Jeff has a particular interest in assisting clients working through relationship difficulties and marital transitions, especially when children are involved. Jeff’s approach involves empowering individuals through psychoeducation and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).
Jeff is very excited to be working at CBT Professionals and is keen to help children, adolescents and adults experiencing stress and difficulties in their lives.
