BPsych(Hons)
Isabella has completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at the University of Queensland and is currently completing her Internship with CBT Professionals.
Isabella has previously worked at a not-for-profit organisation focused on the treatment of youth and adults with a variety of neurodisabilities. She has assisted clients with presentations of developmental disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, phobias, and a variety of mood disorders including depression and anxiety. Isabella has also assisted client’s families with valuable psychoeducation to assist them through the process of treatment and diagnosis as well as couple’s therapy.
Isabella believes that a good therapeutic relationship is a key aspect of mental health recovery, and places importance on building a safe space to connect with clients. Isabella takes a respectful, patient, and open approach to therapy, and employs evidence-based approaches such acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness Techniques to promote mental health recovery. Every client is different, so Isabella integrates a variety of therapeutic techniques to design a person-focused approach to treatment.
Isabella’s clinical areas of interest include neuropsychology, and she has assisted on multiple research papers investigating developmental disorders in babies and infants such as Congenital Heart Disease.
In Isabella’s free time, she enjoys going on walks to spend time in Australian wildlife, as well as engaging in boxing and playing with her cat, Lana.
