Jill is a Clinical psychologist registered under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) with first class honours from the University of NSW and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University. Jill also has a Graduate Certificate in Adult Career Development from Wollongong University and is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society.
Jill has over 13 years’ experience in the private sector, including private practice and Gidget House which is a not for profit organisation that provides assessment, psychological support and counselling for parents experiencing difficulties adjusting to parenthood and perinatal depression and/or anxiety. As part of her training, Jill worked at the Centre for Emotional Health at Macquarie University, providing assessment and treatment to children with anxiety and at Northside Private Hospital providing individual and group therapy to patients with mood disorders.
Jill is a compassionate and caring practitioner who uses an integrative approach incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness. Jill has completed additional training for PTSD, including the EMDR level 1 training.
Jill has extensive experience helping adults, children and families with depression, adjustment difficulties, anxiety disorders, health problems, work stress/career transition, trauma, grief, parenting difficulties, separation and divorce and child emotional and behavioural problems.
Jill also has a special interest in supporting parents during the transition to parenthood and those who are experiencing perinatal adjustment and mood disorders. Jill is trained in Parent-Child Intervention that includes being a CIRCLE OF SECURITY™ Registered Parent Educator and qualified to teach the CIRCLE OF SECURITY™ Parenting Program.
